Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS

Welcome to Temporal Analyst Release 2011.
Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS is a unique and powerful ArcGIS™ extension for efficient and versatile storage, management, processing, plotting and analysis of virtually any time-related data inside your ArcGIS™ application. The Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS effectively removes the barrier between GIS and fully dynamic data handling, modelling and monitoring.
Hardware Requirements
The recommended minimum hardware requirements are:

Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS is an extension to the ESRI ArcMap™ 10.0 GIS product. An ArcView™ 10.0 license is required to run Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS.
Installation^ top
To install Temporal Analyst, please choose 'Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS' in the 'MIKE by DHI Setup' dialog that appears when inserting the MIKE Software 2011 DVD and then press the 'Install' button.
License File and Dongle^ top
To use Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS please follow these steps:
A new license file including the Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS license can be installed from ArcMap™ as follows:
- Make sure that the provided dongle is attached to the computer (parallel port).
- Start ArcMap™
- Select Help from the menu bar
- Select About DHI GIS Extensions
- Click on the 'Install License File' from the About dialog
- Follow the instruction from the 'Install License File' wizard
If another MIKE software product is already installed on the machine, the new license file including the Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS license can be installed as follows:
- Make sure that the provided dongle is attached to the computer.
- Start the MIKE software purchased
- Select Help from the menu bar
- Select License from the Help menu
- Click on the 'Install License File' from the About dialog
- Follow the instruction from the 'Install License File' wizard
A 30 days fully functional trial version can be acquired from the Software Support Centre. Alternatively, you may check the MIKE Software download section. If a trial version is available, Temporal Analyst may be downloaded and installed as follows:
- Start ArcMap™
- Select Help from the menu bar
- Select About Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS (Trial version)
- Click 'Trial License...' button. A web browser window will open with the Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS download page. Please fill in the form and check 'License only' check box.
- After successful completion of the above process, a trial license file is sent by email.
- Click 'Install License file' button
- Follow the instruction from the 'Install License File' wizard
Product Invocation^ top
To start Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS, start ArcMap™. If 'Enable Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS Extension' was selected during installation, Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS shall be ready to use (Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS toolbar and table of contents shall be visible). If Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS extension is not enabled please follow the steps described in the section Enabling Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS Extension section below.
Enabling Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS Extension
If 'Enable Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS Extension' option was selected during installation process, before using Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS in ArcMap™, Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS extension needs to be enabled as follows:
- Select Tools from ArcMap™ menu bar
- Select Extensions
- Check 'Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS' from the list of extensions and click Close button.
Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS table of contents
To turn on visibility of Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS table of contents, proceed as follows
- Select Tools from ArcMap™ menu bar
- Select Options
- Select Table Of Contents tab in the options dialog
- Check Time Series from the list of table of contents and click OK button.
Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS toolbar
To turn on visibility of Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS toolbar, proceed as follows
- Select View from ArcMap™ menu bar
- Select Toolbars
- Make sure 'Temporal Analyst' has a check box. If not, click on 'Temporal Analyst' to show Temporal Analyst for ArcGIS toolbar.
