DHI Network License Manager

Welcome to the DHI Network License Manager Release 2011.
The DHI Network License Manager is used to enable the MIKE by DHI software products to run in network mode. In network mode all the users in the organisation share a pool of floating licenses managed by the DHI Network License Manager component. The DHI Network License Manager component is installed on a central server where it acts as an 'accountant' keeping track of the number of concurrent users by checking the available licenses in and out of the shared pool of licenses.
In this way each license is utilised more efficiently than in local mode - as soon as a license is released by one user, it is available for another user on the network.
The MIKE software products themselves still reside entirely on the client machines. No application processing is done on the server.
The recommended minimum hardware requirements are:

Please notice that there are no special requirements to the network when using the DHI Network License Manager. The DHI License Management System uses TCP/IP for communication across the network.
Also please notice that to install the DHI Network License Manager, a license file (DHILicense.dat) with a valid license to the DHI Network License Manager (MZ_LM_Server) and a corresponding hardware dongle are required.
To install to install the DHI Network License Manager on the machine acting as license server, run the file "setup.exe" in the folder "DHI Network License Manager" on the DVD, and follow the on-screen instructions. For details on installation and configuration of the DHI Network License Manager, you may also refer to the DHI Network License Manager - User Guide. If you do not have a hardcopy of this guide, it can be found in the DHI Network License Manager folder on the DHI Software DVD (the file is called NetworkLicenseManager.pdf). To read this guide online, first install Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Acrobat folder on the DVD.
